Blackberries

My friend Bussie and her husband gave me a twig of backberry last july 4, 2015 when we visited them at ponderosa, silang, cavite. The mother plant of their blackberry is in Guam. I planted two blackberries from the twig and this january 2016, I saw some flowers. By february 14, 2016, I ate some fruits already. They tasted sour. I hope I can make them sweet.

Tomatoes

I love cherry tomatoes for my salad of arugula, purslane, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Aside from cherry tomatoes, i love heirloom tomatoes. They organically  grow as vine in my garden. I pick them fresh when i need them - their sweetness is incomparable!

Coffee

It is valentine's day. I smell the sweet scent of  white coffee  flowers as I enter the farm entrance. It smells heavenly!

Pol timely  harvested the red ripe coffee beans at the back of the gazebo.

My balcony garden

The best food you can put on your table is from your own garden.
Space is always a problem in urban living but I use my balcony space to plant cherry tomato, arugula, chinese cabbage, basil, peppermint, and a lot more. The cherry tomato is planted in a pail, held upwards with a tie, a hanging cherry tomato with lots of fruits.

My new trellis and plant box garden. I want to live by my simple vision "Plant what you eat. Eat what you plant". I try to practice natural gardening methods by using compost tea in watering my plants.

Peter, Aki  and company built my beautiful and sturdy trellis along the pathway and below it were constructed plant boxes which  I envision to be my extension garden.  My 2014 bonuses were well spent  because now I can plant a lot of vegies, herbs and special plants.

New tomato and basil plants

Pepper patch.
Capsicum pepper, jalapeno, sultana, and a lot more vaieties.

Five star anise

Tomato patch which I experimented growing through suckers

My bestfriend yolly helped me plant papaya seedlings.

Four papaya seedlings were planted 3rd week of  april 2014. We placed chicken manure and compost in the hole and imbedded a small plastic bottle (with holes) near the roots where the compost tea and other organic fertilizer will be  poured.  Then, we covered it with kakawati leaves and twigs so that the new plant would be sheltered while recovering from the transplant.

Harvest season

Indian mango fruits abound in Hardin  ni Juan. To reach the unreachabsle fruits...

Flowering dragon fruits due for harvest in august 2014

Sweet carinyosa papaya..

Jackfruit harvest was bountiful this year...23 fruits in only one tree. We sent 4 big fruits to samar via truck.
